I am not the kind of person who loves to be with children. I don't like noises and their childish ways but last February 3, I managed to be gentle to them. I grew up without babies or toddlers playing around our house. I can clearly remember that I was the one who was being babysitted and played but on that day, I was the one who did all these jobs.
"I Am a Blessing" Outreach Program is one of our requirements in our Values subject. It is also one way to teach us how to live a life with legacy. The first time I heard that we're going to have this kind of activity in school, I was excited and at the same time, nervous? I'm excited because I would be able to reach out to children. Nervous because I'm not very comfortable being with them.
2 days before the outreach program, I have this back pain that caused me to be absent. If I'm not going to attend the program, there will be a large possibility for me to fail this subject. Whether I like it or not, I have to go.
We were just sitting there in the gymnasium by section. Taking pictures and being vain with each other. We were actually so bored while waiting for our turn. Our class was assigned for the food and entertainment. The team leader, Mina, divided the class in three: The dancers, facilitators & snacks committee. The dancers prepared a dance for the kids to be entertained, facilitators are the one who will feed the children and the snacks committee that will give the snacks to the children.

The moment I saw the children, I felt a sudden sympathy for them. I can see their happy faces and their smiles are so pure and that made me bow down my head to pray.
The program started with kids being assisted to their chairs and coloring some pictures then it was proceeded by the prayer and dance. A puppet-show that covers the story of Noah from the Bible. After that, it's time for us to feed the children.
Make the most of your time, TIME IS GOLD. I miss my childhood but I learned a lot from it. You know what they say, Don't count the days, make the days count.
AND also, always GIVE because...
in ACTS 20:35 (NIV)
35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
